They're functional shorts but they aren't my favorite. Material is thinner/lighter, not "board shorts", but the velcro & cover at the waistband are solid and they look decent. Nicer than the other "cheap" wrestling shorts I've got.

I bought these for no-gi jiu jitsu, and the velcro enclosure is a bit bulky. It seemed really bulky when I first tried them on, but it didn't end up interfering with live rolling. The shorts were actually good--fit well and looked nice--but the velcro seams started to come off in strips very quickly (worn twice, washed once), and the drawstrings started frizzing.
